What do you know about diabetes?
Changing your lifestyle can
reduces a lot of chronic diseases that are very rampant in this 21st
century. Our forefathers in those days do not have much records of diabetes or
outbreaks of other diseases. This is because they were very careful in what
they eat, they believe in natural and fresh food. This days we consume a lot of food with heavy sugar contents and salt which are harmful to our health.
The conventional and highly processed
foods are full of dangerous toxins that are not good for our health. These are refined
junk food packed with sugar, preservatives, synthetic, rancid fats addictive fast food and more.
Highly processed food helps to disrupt your immune system by destroying all your
white blood cells that were meant to fight against bacteria and viruses that
infect the body. When your immune system is low, you can easily acquire all sorts
of diseases especially diabetes of any stage.
Diabetes is a serious disease that affects
almost all the organs of the body. This causes damages gradually to the vital
part of our tissues and cells.
Our cells depends on a single
simple sugar (monosaccharide) the most basic units of carbohydrate and they are
essential sources of energy for the body. When you eat food that contains carbohydrates
they are converted into glucose this in turns gets into the blood stream
rapidly.
Glucose is needed for the pancreas
to make insulin. Diabetes occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or
cannot use the insulin it is producing. Insulin is released when glucose is
present in the blood and also when protein is ingested insulin is released. This
invariably means that the hormone insulin is the main regulator of glucose
(sugar) level in the body. Once it is altered, it leads to diabetes.
Symptoms of Diabetes
- Blur vision - Not able to see clearly at night or during day
- Frequent urination - regular visit to the toilet
- Always feeling tired without heavy work
- Dehydration - hunger for more water always
- Craving for more food.
The above symptoms does not necessary means you are diabetic but you can see your doctor to be sure you are not diabetic.
How can you avoid this killer
disease?
Throwing away an old behavior and
learning a new one is important to curbing the issues of diabetes. The following
are the suggested ways to prevent diabetes.
- 1. Choose the right source of food you consume. Eat natural food not processed ones.
- 2. Manage your weight – losing some weight helps to lower your blood sugar level.
- 3. Take up a simple exercise like some house chores, walking a mile, skipping, try and take some minutes from your laptop or desk top and walk around.
- 4. Take a glass of water before and after bed. To stay hydrated.
- 5. Eat fruits and vegetables – they contain complex sugar
- 6. Use natural honey in place of conventional sugar.
There are natural ways to cure
diabetes and to also to reduce high blood sugar level. Our forefathers appreciated this natural food and they stayed healthy and lived longer.
Take your time to do the following approach, be consistent until you get result.
Take a handful of alligator
pepper (Aframomum melegueta) crushed the seed
Take 5-6 pieces of bitter kola (Garcinia
kola), crush it and mix with the crushed alligator pepper with clean water. This
can also reduce blood sugar level.
Large handfuls of bitter leaf
(Dandelion leaf) wash and squeeze with clean water, extract the greenish water
and add to the above and mixed together. Drink 1 glass cup daily for 1 month.
Eat unripe plantain flour (amala) with vegetable soup.
you can also boil the unripe plantain and eat with palm oil
Cut down too much carbohydrate food and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.
Drink a lot of water before and after bed.
